To provide an affordable and safe gathering place for ALL women who desire community and support by offering collaborative workspace, classes, and events with an inclusive children's program.
To refresh and transform women by allowing them to create, gather, and grow at The Well.
In San Diego, there are 19 homeless shelters and approximately 10 safe houses specifically for domestic violence victims. San Diego is ranked by the FBI as one of the nation’s 13 highest areas of commercial sexual exploitation of children. In 2017, a total of 194,377 babies were born to “teen moms”, women aged 15–19 years, for a birth rate of 18.8 per 1,000 women in this age group in California. With these staggering statistics, we at The Well feel called to scholarship women coming out of these traumatic situations. Our desire is to save 25% of our desks to engage women from different non-profits around San Diego that exist to help women get back to a place of stability and growth. We know The Well is a perfect place for them to work and bring their children, but we also pray they will meet Jesus there through our community.
It used to be women would go to their local well to gather water, but they also found fellowship there with other women. We realized that there is still a great need in our society for such a gathering place; A place to meet needs but also foster community. The Well is for any woman, teenage girl, or child who longs for community. It will be a place women can bring their burdens, and the body of Christ will share their load. Some women will simply need a break, and to drop the weight of mom guilt while someone else can share the love of Christ with their children. Others may come from a place of deep need or pain. All are welcome to The Well. We hope to be a safe place where women can be open about their hurts and fears, receive prayer and encouragement, and be known and fully loved. It is our prayer that The Well pours mercy and grace all over the women of San Diego, and eventually the world. The Well is a Christ-centered, Bible-believing, faith-based organization. Ultimately, we want women to come to The Well and meet Jesus there as the Samaritan woman did at Jacob's well in John 4.
Come and be refreshed at The Well!
